Adopted children problems requiring behavioral assistance
Wingate works closely with the entire family to provide support and behavioral assistance for parents and their adopted child. We work directly with the adopted children in our program while also offering direct support for the adoptive parents on weekly calls home.
John Cohen MS,LPC, is one of our primary therapists who works with our adopted population, John was adopted and understands firsthand the struggles that come along with adoption. His constant contact with the family as a whole and scheduled weekly calls help to not only show you the progress your child is having at Wingate, but enables the entire family to be part of the behavioral assistance we provide.
Adopted children problems are not uncommon. Wingate provides adventure therapy in a wilderness setting for the adopted child and a structured forum where families can communicate with one another and share their challenges. While your child is working through the behavioral problems at Wingate, the entire family gets support on how to continue the behavioral assistance at home.
