Group homes for troubled teens are designed to provide 24 hour care, individual and group therapy, and therapeutic supervision to a small group of struggling teens in a home-like setting.
Arizona divides group homes into two separate categories; one set of group homes is set up as a transitional residence for struggling or troubled teens coming out of the legal system usually from some type of incarceration, and in preparation for entering back into the community or their own family homes. These particular Group Homes are set up as either all boys group homes or all girls group home. There are no Co-ed group homes in this category.
The second category of Group Homes is ones that assist those troubled teens that are dealing with severe behavioral, emotional or physical disabilities, and are also supported by Medicaid. These same department also supervises; Foster Adoption, DYC Services, Clinical Services, and Group Homes.
