When a young person is struggling with, and being treated for, any variety of mental and behavioral health issues, a focus on academic performance is not only immensely displaced in terms of immediate importance, it can be (and often is) a distinct distraction from the potential healing effects of a wonderful wilderness therapy experience.
Academic struggles frequently emerge out of mental health struggles, the undistracted treatment of the later powerfully addresses the former. Understanding this, we have worked with an accredited educational institution which grants six half credits for simply participating in our program, with no formal focus on academic work.
We provide academics, but not at the cost of treatment effectiveness. We provide academics, but with the proper perspective, we don't let it get in the way of that which is far more important (Health & Fitness, Consumer Science - Nutrition, Outdoor Education, Environmental Science, Language Arts, Consumer Science - Teen Living).
