Altoona, PA Behavioral Health Access Center is the central point of contact for teens and young adults experiencing mental illness and/or drug or alcohol problems. The Access Center serves all teens or young adults that are currently receiving county funding, or state Medical Assistance.The Access Center also serves as a free source of information and referral.

The Access Center is a telephone-managed facility that offers confidential & easy access to the mental and behavioral health services and drug and/or alcohol services that are offered by county to teens and young adults.

The team will determine the type of services needed, and will connect teens, young adults and their families with their choice of health care. The Access Center staff will arrange an appointment for the teen or young adult with the provider of choice at the time of contact.

Please provide an explanation of the problem that the teen or young adult is experiencing. The Access Center staff member, who is clinically-trained, will determine the least restrictive, clinically appropriate level of treatment.
