Individual Therapy in the Wilderness | Troubled Teens & Young Adults
The foundation of this individualized approach is the individual therapy. Your individually assigned therapist will meet with you for an individual session 1-2 hours every week. The content of this session will be up to you and your therapist. Our therapists use a variety of approaches depending on the client and their primary issues, including:
Treating Primary Issues Through a Variety of Therapeutic Approaches
- Cognitive-behavioral (CBT)
- Family Systems
- Dialectical Behavioral (DBT)
With these approaches and others, our therapists will help you identify, explore, and work through whatever issues you may be struggling with.
WinGate uses a dual-diagnosis model, so we don’t just stop at the main issues. Our therapists will help you address both you main reason for needing treatment and the other problems that may have been hiding underneath the “big” problem.
While you may have been in therapy before, the wilderness environment magnifies the effects of therapy, making your time more productive. Many of our therapists also assign therapeutic assignments between sessions. This “homework” allows you to practice the new skills and techniques you are learning and to make the most out of every day of your time at WinGate.
Most importantly, they will treat you as a whole person- not simply a set of issues just like every other client. Our therapists do an exceptional job and will help you begin the road to recovery from your issues.
WinGate is a very special "experience" that cannot be duplicated... its the heart and soul of WinGate, designed and created by the owners of the program. These special people are truly one of a kind.
