WinGate Wilderness Therapy Programs for Troubled Boys and Troubled Girls

WinGate is defined as the name of the solid and sturdy layer of rock found in between layers of crimson and cream Sandstone rock formations that runs like a ribbon through the landscapes of the national monuments of Southern Utah. The WinGate wilderness outdoor adventure takes place in the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument located in this area. The outdoor therapeutic adventure offered through WinGate is paramount to restoring a solid and sturdy foundation within the heart of the child.

Additionally, WinGate is a term given to people in ancient Ireland. The name WinGate depicts a strong gate established in the valley between two hills where the strong wind rushes through. A strong gate was built by the Irish as a foundation to weather the strong winds (times of turmoil and trouble).

Our teen program, WinGate, has been designed to help boys or girls to establish strong gates (foundational principles), to emerge from their wilderness experience as strong young people with purpose and destiny, able to weather the storm.
